MISSION ACTIVITIES

Cornerstone Community Church has a long history of caring about missions. Over the years, we’ve taken part in several mission trips—serving communities in need and supporting humanitarian work both locally and around the world.

We take part in short-term missions to support and encourage missionaries in their ministry. These local and global trips give participants a chance to consider their role in the Great Commission, serve the local church, share the gospel, see firsthand how God is working in different places, and come alongside the missionaries we partner with.

Cambodia (2008, 2018, 2025)

We organized mission trips to Cambodia in 2008, 2018, and 2025. These trips included time to learn (fact-finding) as well as hands-on ministry. Cornerstone Community Church continues to support the ongoing work in Cambodia and stays connected to what God started through these visits.

History - Cambodia Christmas card appeal

We started the Cambodia Christmas Card Appeal in 2009 after three members of our church visited Cambodia. Through this appeal, we support children at the Houses of Love, Joy, and Peace—church-affiliated homes that provide meals and Christian education. Each September we sell cards for $5, and people in Canada can include a personal message. In November, the cards and funds are delivered to Cambodia so local teams can purchase gifts for the children. Seeing photos of the kids with their gifts and cards is always a highlight for our congregation.

Every September, Cornerstone Community Church launches the Cambodia Christmas Card Appeal. In 2020, rising costs and shipping challenges led us to switch to personalized electronic cards, which the local team print out for each child and team members. We increased the donation per child to $10 giving the local team more options to purchase local gifts for the children and this updated approach has continued each year since. 

We partner with individuals, families, and organizations doing kingdom work around the world. Our support isn’t just financial—we also pray, encourage them, and stay in touch.
